June 06, 2025Overhyped and Overpriced: My Disappointing Experience with RST Gear
I've been riding motorcycles for years, and I've always been on the lookout for gear that combines style, comfort, and safety. When I heard about RST, I thought I'd found the perfect brand. Their products seemed to have it all: advanced safety features, sleek designs, and a reputation for excellence in the motorcycle community. However, after purchasing their flagship TracTech Evo boots and V4.1 Airbag jacket, I was disappointed to find that the reality didn't quite live up to the hype. First of all, the boots were incredibly stiff and uncomfortable, even after breaking them in. The airbag jacket, while innovative, felt bulky and restrictive, and the electronic system was finicky and difficult to use. But what really sealed the deal for me was the outrageous price tag. I expected to pay a premium for high-quality gear, but RST's prices are astronomical. For the same amount of money, I could have bought two or three sets of gear from other reputable brands. Overall, I'd say that RST's gear is more style than substance. While it looks great on paper, the actual products fall short of expectations. Unless you're a professional racer with a sponsorship deal, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for your motorcycle gear needs.
