I'm extremely disappointed with American Hurricane Shutters. As someone who's lived in the Cape Fear area their whole life, I thought I was supporting a local business that truly cared about our community's safety. But after my experience, I feel like I've been taken advantage of. The sales process was pushy, and they kept emphasizing their 'proprietary Design Pressure Analysis' like it was some kind of magic solution. Newsflash: it's just a fancy way of saying they charge more for the same product everyone else offers. The installation team was friendly, I'll give them that, but the actual shutters themselves? Underwhelming. The powder-coated aluminum looks cheap, and the polycarbonate panels feel flimsy. I was expecting top-notch quality for the price, but what I got was something that looks like it belongs on a budget DIY project. And don't even get me started on the 'industry-leading 7-year warranty.' It's full of loopholes and fine print that makes it practically useless. I've had to call them multiple times for 'servicing' that they promised would be included, and each time it's been a battle to get someone to show up. The whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. If you're looking for reliable storm shutters that won't break the bank, keep looking. American Hurricane Shutters is all about making a quick buck off scared homeowners. 1/10 would not recommend.
