Felt Like a Sales Pitch, Not Support
I'm extremely disappointed in the services provided by Education Advocacy, LLC. As a parent, I was desperate for guidance on navigating the special education system for my child, and their promises of personalized support and advocacy seemed like exactly what we needed. However, from the very first meeting, it felt more like a sales pitch than genuine support. The consultant we worked with seemed more interested in selling us additional services than actually listening to our concerns or offering practical advice. The 'comprehensive range of services' they touted turned out to be a series of generic workshops and overpriced one-on-one coaching sessions that didn't address our specific situation at all. When I asked for help with drafting measurable IEP goals and objectives, I was given a boilerplate template with little to no customization. The 'expertise' they claimed to have in special education law and practice was not evident in our interactions. Perhaps the most frustrating aspect was the lack of follow-through on their promises. After paying a significant amount for their services, we were left to fend for ourselves when it came to actual advocacy and support during critical meetings with the school district. The referrals they provided to other professionals were outdated and not relevant to our needs. I would caution other families against relying solely on Education Advocacy, LLC for their special education needs. Instead, consider seeking support from local non-profits or community organizations that offer free or low-cost advocacy services. Our experience was a stark reminder that in the world of special education advocacy, it's crucial to do your research and not rely on promises of 'personalized support' from for-profit companies.
