The Aerial Robotics Club at NC State is a multi-disciplinary team of students specializing in designing and building autonomous search and rescue aerial systems. The team designs and builds custom airframes, installs custom electronics, writes custom software, and integrates everything into a world-ranking Unmanned Aerial System (UAS). Their current system, the Kavik Airframe, is a battery-powered system tailored to their mission. The club has a strong competitive spirit, participating in the AUVSI SUAS competition every year and achieving notable awards, such as the Just Joe Sportsmanship Award and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes.
