The Great Australian Disappointment: Overpriced and Underwhelming
I'm still trying to process the utter disappointment that was my experience with Apollo Camper. As an avid traveler and adventure-seeker, I thought I'd found the perfect partner for my Australian road trip. But, boy, was I wrong. From the get-go, the prices seemed steep, but I figured the quality of the vehicles and service would make up for it. Fast forward to picking up our campervan, and I was appalled by the state it was in. The interior was outdated, the beds creaked, and don't even get me started on the 'cooking facilities' – a tiny stove that seemed to have been installed as an afterthought. The air conditioning was barely functional, and the storage space was cramped. But, I thought, maybe the scenic routes and breathtaking views would make up for the subpar accommodations. Nope. The itinerary suggestions on their website were lackluster, and the 'friendly reservations team' was nowhere to be found when I had questions or concerns. It felt like they just wanted to take my money and send me on my merry way. And, to top it all off, the 'competitive pricing' they advertised was nothing but a joke. I ended up paying an arm and a leg for a vehicle that was, frankly, not worth it. If you're looking for a campervan hire company that actually cares about its customers and provides quality vehicles, keep looking. Apollo Camper is all hype and no substance. Save your money, and your sanity, and avoid them at all costs. One star from me, and that's being generous.
