Ascension Parish Government, led by Parish President Clint Cointment, is committed to moving the parish forward through innovative approaches and a culture of efficiency, transparency, and accountability. Since 2020, the administration has invested over $300 million in drainage projects to protect homes and businesses, addressing long-standing infrastructure challenges. 11:47am and My Trust Was Shattered

I'm still trying to process how a government that claims to be all about transparency and accountability can be so opaque in its dealings. As a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish, I've seen a lot of promises made, but very few kept. The $300 million invested in drainage projects sounds impressive, but when my neighborhood still floods every time it rains, it feels like just another statistic. And don't even get me started on the 'stronger communities' they're supposed to be building. The new West Ascension Early Learning Center is a great idea, but what about the existing schools that are still underfunded and understaffed? It feels like we're just putting lipstick on a pig instead of addressing the real issues. I've tried to use their Open Finance system, but it's clunky and doesn't give me the insight I need to feel like my tax dollars are being used effectively. With all the talk about innovation and progress, I expect to see real change, not just fancy press releases and photo ops. Until then, I remain skeptical and disappointed in the direction our parish is headed. The rankings and accolades are great, but they don't put food on the table or keep my home safe from flooding.
