Disappointing Experience with Mackenzie Architects' Senior Living Design
I recently had the opportunity to work with Mackenzie Architects on a senior living project, and unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. Despite their impressive portfolio and commitment to sustainable environments, the team struggled to deliver a design that met our needs. The initial proposal seemed promising, with a focus on homelike and community-driven spaces, but as the project progressed, it became clear that the firm's priorities lay elsewhere. Communication was inconsistent, and our requests for modifications were often met with resistance. The final product, while aesthetically pleasing, lacked the functionality and attention to detail that we had expected from a firm with over 30 years of experience. Perhaps most disappointing was the lack of innovation in their design approach, despite their claims of being a leader in systems-built construction and modular design.
