Disappointing Experience at a Local Favorite
I'm a long-time resident of Cape Coral and have always heard great things about Anthony's on the BLVD, but my recent visit was a letdown. The service was slow, and our server seemed overwhelmed, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. The food was just okay - I ordered the meatloaf, which was dry and lacked flavor. The 'famous' all-you-can-eat Fish Fry on Fridays sounds like a great deal, but the quality of the fish was subpar. What really disappointed me, though, was the lack of community spirit I've heard so much about. The atmosphere felt more like a generic chain restaurant than a vibrant hub of local activity. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but for a place that prides itself on being a cornerstone of the community, I expected a lot more. With so many other great restaurants in the area, I'm not sure I'll be back to give Anthony's another chance.
