June 05, 2025Disappointing Experience with Literacy Services
I was really looking forward to improving my English skills with Literacy Services, but unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. As someone who struggles with basic literacy tasks, I thought this organization would be a game-changer for me. However, the tutoring services I received were inconsistent and often cancelled at the last minute. The tutors, although well-intentioned, seemed overwhelmed and lacked the resources to provide personalized attention. I also found the learning materials to be outdated and not very engaging. Despite their mission to empower adults with literacy skills, I felt like I was just another statistic to them. The offices were conveniently located in the libraries, but the environment was often noisy and distracting. I appreciate their commitment to transparency, but it didn't translate to the quality of service I received. Maybe I just had high expectations, but I was hoping for a more supportive and cohesive environment. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend Literacy Services to others seeking to improve their literacy skills.
