Not the Celebration of Life We Hoped For

I'm writing this review with a heavy heart because our experience with Scenic Chapel, despite their promises of a personalized Celebration of Life, fell short of our expectations in several key areas. The staff, while well-intentioned, seemed disorganized during the planning process, which added to our stress. We had specifically asked for a certain type of memorial service, but there were noticeable discrepancies between what we discussed and the actual service provided. The communication was not as open or empathetic as we had hoped, especially considering the sensitive nature of their services. Furthermore, the pre-planning services we were offered, including the year of daily grief support messages, did not provide the comfort or support we needed during our grieving process. While the facility itself was clean and well-maintained, and the staff's experience in handling funeral services was evident, the overall experience left us feeling like we were just another transaction rather than a family being cared for during a difficult time. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was the lack of follow-through on some of the unique requests we made to personalize the service, which we felt were important to honor our loved one's memory. Given the family ownership and the emphasis on personalized services, we expected a more compassionate and tailored approach to our needs. Unfortunately, the service provided by Scenic Chapel did not meet our expectations, leaving us to wonder if their focus on family ownership and management translates into the kind of care and attention families truly need during such challenging times.
