June 06, 2025Disorganized Chaos with a Side of Confusion
I'm not one to usually write reviews, but my experience at the Gallatin Senior Citizen's Center was just so underwhelming. I visited the center last week, hoping to find some engaging activities for my retirement, but what I found was a disorganized mess. The line dance class I attended was poorly instructed, with the teacher seeming more interested in chatting with the regulars than actually teaching. The craft workshop I tried to join was cancelled at the last minute due to 'lack of interest', which was frustrating because I had been looking forward to it all week. The thrift store, while well-intentioned, was cluttered and overpriced. I was expecting a welcoming space, but instead, I felt like an outsider among the cliques of regulars. The director, Beverly Stovall, seemed nice but overwhelmed, and the reliance on donations and member support feels like a burden on the members rather than a community effort. Overall, my experience was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend the Gallatin Senior Citizen's Center to others unless they revamp their activities and services to be more inclusive and organized.
