June 06, 2025Discordant Experience with Ensemble Arts Academy
I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Ensemble Arts Academy. As a parent, I was initially impressed by Claude Borders' credentials and the academy's promise to foster a love of music in its students. However, the reality was far from harmonious. My child, who has been playing the violin for a few years, was excited to take lessons with Claude, but the teaching style was rigid and unaccommodating. Claude's approach seemed to focus more on technical proficiency than on nurturing a passion for music, which is what initially drew my child to the instrument. The trial lesson was disorganized, and Claude seemed more interested in showcasing his own musical prowess than in understanding my child's needs and goals. The studio itself was also somewhat disheveled, with outdated equipment and a general air of neglect. For the cost, I expected a more professional and welcoming environment. Perhaps Ensemble Arts Academy is better suited for beginners or those looking for a more traditional, rigid approach to music education. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations, and we will be taking our musical pursuits elsewhere. With so many other music schools in the Las Vegas area offering more modern, student-centered approaches, I would caution others to explore their options before committing to Ensemble Arts Academy.
