I recently had the misfortune of hiring Ed Kotary Home Inspections for a pre-sale inspection of my property in Stittville, NY. With over 30 years of experience, I expected a professional and thorough inspection. Unfortunately, the experience was a letdown. The radon testing, which they proudly advertise as part of their comprehensive service, was botched. The tester they used seemed outdated, and the results took an eternity to arrive. When I finally received the report, I was dismayed by the lack of detail and insight. It seemed like a generic template with my property's address slapped on it. The inspection itself was equally underwhelming. The inspector seemed rushed, barely spending enough time to notice the obvious issues with the foundation. When I pointed out some concerns, he brushed them off, saying they were 'minor' and 'nothing to worry about.' I later found out from a second opinion that these 'minor' issues were actually significant and could have impacted the sale of my property. The company's emphasis on health and safety is admirable, but it seems like they don't practice what they preach. Their 'attention to detail' is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. What's even more infuriating is that they claim to be a 'trusted partner' and 'leader in home inspection services,' but my experience tells a different story. Unless they seriously revamp their inspection process and invest in better equipment, I would not recommend Ed Kotary Home Inspections to anyone. The peace of mind they promise is nothing but a myth.
