I've been banking with Eastern Michigan Bank for a while now, and I have to say, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating. The Lexington branch, where I primarily do my banking, seems to be plagued by inefficiencies. The staff, although friendly, appears to be undertrained, and it shows in their inability to resolve even the simplest of issues. I've had to call multiple times to get answers to basic questions, only to be transferred from one person to another. The online banking system is clunky and often unresponsive, making it difficult to manage my accounts. To make matters worse, the bank's hours of operation are not very customer-friendly, especially for those of us who work non-traditional hours. I've tried to visit the branch on Saturdays, only to find that they close at noon, which is hardly convenient. The ATM, although available 24/7, has been out of order more times than I can count. I've also noticed that the bank observes a plethora of holidays, which, while commendable, often leaves customers like me scrambling to find alternative banking solutions. As someone who relies on ACH transactions, I find the bank's requirement for files to be delivered a day prior to the effective date to be overly restrictive. It's clear that Eastern Michigan Bank is trying to be a trusted financial partner, but until they address these glaring issues, I'd advise others to look elsewhere for their banking needs. With so many other banks offering more flexible hours, better online platforms, and more efficient customer service, it's hard to see why anyone would choose Eastern Michigan Bank. Unless they seriously revamp their operations and prioritize customer satisfaction, I fear they'll continue to lose customers like me.
