He then taught Traditional Chinese Medicine at Shanghai University and practiced as an assistant professor in its affiliated hospital until 1990. Upon transferring his practice to the United States, Dr. Shao taught acupuncture and Chinese medicine at the Florida Institute of TCM as a professor before opening his own practice in 1994.
