I recently had the misfortune of working with Continental Real Estate Services (CRES) on a complex transaction involving multiple properties. Despite their claims of exceptional service and time-saving solutions, my experience was marred by inefficiencies and a general lack of transparency. The dedicated team assigned to our account seemed overwhelmed, and communication was sparse, leading to misunderstandings and missteps at every turn. Their curative support, which was supposed to be a hallmark of their service, was slow to materialize, and when it did, it was often inadequate, requiring us to seek additional assistance from other vendors. The REO title and closing coordination process, which CRES touted as one of their strengths, was anything but streamlined. Delays and errors plagued the process, causing frustration and unnecessary stress for our team. What's more, their portfolio oversight and utility management services, while comprehensive on paper, failed to deliver the promised benefits in practice, leaving us to manage many aspects of the transaction ourselves. Perhaps most disappointing was the lack of proactive problem-solving from CRES. When issues arose, as they inevitably did, their team seemed more focused on assigning blame than on finding solutions. This defensive posture only served to prolong the resolution process, further complicating an already challenging situation. In the end, our experience with CRES was a costly lesson in the importance of diligence and the dangers of relying too heavily on promises of exceptional service. While they may have a proven track record with some clients, our interaction was marked by disappointment and frustration. Until they address these systemic issues and commit to genuine, client-centric service, I would caution others against partnering with them, especially for complex transactions that demand precision, reliability, and a client-first approach.
