I'm still trying to process how a place with such a rich history and supposedly 'high-quality, satisfying meals' could serve food that tastes like it was reheated from yesterday's leftovers. The College Park Diner, a staple in the community for over 70 years, left me questioning everything. As a health-conscious individual, I was initially excited to see that they offer more than just the usual salad options for vegetarians. However, my veggie omelette was a sad, oily mess that seemed to have been cooked by someone who had never even heard of the concept of 'fresh herbs.' The 'artisan dishes' they brag about? More like mass-produced, uninspired attempts at creativity. I ordered the avocado toast, which was literally just mashed up avocado on stale bread with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes - no effort, no care, no love. And don't even get me started on the 'warm and inviting atmosphere,' which felt more like a crowded, noisy mess with decor that seemed frozen in time. The tables were sticky, the booths were cramped, and the 'friendly' staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other than attending to customers. For a place that claims to be part of the 'amazing College Park community,' I expected a lot more. The 'commitment to providing exceptional dining experiences' seems to be nothing more than a marketing gimmick. As someone who values supporting local businesses, it pains me to say that I won't be back. Unless they seriously revamp their menu, staff, and overall attitude, I'd advise others to take their business (and appetite) elsewhere. Maybe then they'll realize that just because you've been around for 70 years doesn't mean you can rest on your laurels and serve subpar food.
