A Touch of Home Child Care
About This Business
A Touch of Home Child Care is a reputable childcare provider dedicated to offering high-quality, affordable services to families with infants through school-age children. With a strong foundation in home-style nurturing and center-based learning objectives, the company has established itself as a trusted name in the childcare industry. Founded in February 2011 by co-owners Andrea Lopez and Elise Allie, A Touch of Home Child Care was born out of a passionate vision to create a welcoming, nurturing environment where children can thrive. The company's first location in Kalamazoo, Michigan, quickly gained popularity through word-of-mouth advertising and was full-grown within four months of opening. This success led to the expansion of the business, with the opening of a second location in Portage, Michigan, in June 2012. Today, A Touch of Home Child Care operates multiple locations, including A Touch of Home Gladys, A Touch of Home Oakland, A Touch of Home Kalamazoo, and A Touch of Home Texas Corner, each providing a unique and supportive environment for children to learn and grow. The company's commitment to quality childcare is evident in its dedication to providing before and after school care, transportation, and summer camps, catering to the diverse needs of families. With a strong focus on community and family values, A Touch of Home Child Care has become a beloved institution in the region, renowned for its exceptional service and unwavering commitment to the well-being and development of the children in its care. As the company continues to grow and expand its services, it remains true to its founding principles, prioritizing the needs of families and providing a safe, nurturing environment where children can flourish.

June 05, 2025Not the Homely Touch I Expected
I'm extremely disappointed with A Touch of Home Child Care. As a working mom, I thought I'd found a trustworthy place for my little one, but the experience has been nothing short of chaotic. The first red flag was when they 'lost' my daughter's favorite blanket - something that's happened not once, not twice, but three times! The staff seems overwhelmed, and the communication is lackluster at best. I've had to chase them down for updates on my child's daily activities, and even then, the information is vague. The 'home-style nurturing' they promise feels more like an afterthought, with my daughter often coming home exhausted and cranky. The summer camp program, which I thought would be a highlight, was disorganized, with activities that seemed to be an afterthought. For a place that prides itself on community and family values, I've felt more like a nuisance than a valued parent. Perhaps it's time for A Touch of Home to revisit its founding principles, because from where I'm standing, it feels like they've lost sight of what truly matters - the children and their families.
