Felt Like a Speculative Gamble
I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Oxbow Communities, Inc., and I must say, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth. As someone who's been involved in several real estate ventures, I was expecting a level of professionalism and transparency that, unfortunately, was not met. The company's president, Eric Cernich, seemed more focused on touting his nearly three decades of experience rather than actually delivering on the promises made. The team, including Chris Pham and Linh Nguyen, appeared disjointed and lacked a clear vision for the project we were discussing. Their emphasis on REO and infill properties in Southern California, while ambitious, felt like a speculative gamble rather than a well-thought-out strategy. The entitlement processing and construction management aspects, which they highlighted as strengths, were marred by inefficiencies and a lack of clear communication. What bothered me the most was the lack of regard for the community's needs and the blatant pursuit of profit over people. It's disappointing to see a company that claims to be dedicated to creating value for its clients and stakeholders fall so short of those ideals. Unless they significantly revamp their approach and prioritize ethical practices, I would caution anyone against getting involved with Oxbow Communities.
