About This Business
Baltic to Boardwalk is a stalwart in the upper midwest music scene, with a history spanning over a decade. Formed in 2009, the band quickly garnered a following with the release of their 4-song demo, followed by their debut EP, 'Glory Days,' in January 2011. This initial success propelled them into a series of tours across the midwest, mountain states, and pacific northwest. Their discography expanded with the release of their second EP, 'Ghost Towns,' in August 2012, which was followed by extensive touring to other parts of the country. The band's debut LP, 'Heathens,' was released in April 2017, marking a significant milestone in their career. Further touring and the release of singles 'Dinner Table' and 'Empty Patriarch' in February 2019 showcased their continuous creativity and dedication to their craft. To date, Baltic to Boardwalk has proudly performed in 39 US states, with ambitions to tour the remaining states. They also had the opportunity to perform in Canada in May 2019, expanding their international presence. During the 'great pause' of 2020, the band utilized the time to create their most compelling collection of songs to date, resulting in the release of the 4-song EP 'Denial' on June 18th, 2020. This was closely followed by the EP 'Anger' on August 20, 2021, and culminated with their final EP of 2021, 'Depression,' released on December 17th, 2021. The band's journey is a testament to their perseverance and passion for music, with a clear vision to continue producing high-quality music and performing across the globe. Their music is available on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, and they offer a range of merchandise, including T-shirts and hoodies, for their fans. With their unique sound and energetic live performances, Baltic to Boardwalk continues to captivate audiences and leave a lasting impression on the music scene.

Underwhelming Experience: Where's the Substance?
I went into Baltic to Boardwalk's show with an open mind, expecting a high-energy performance from a band that's been around for over a decade. Unfortunately, what I got was a lackluster experience that left me questioning their reputation. The music, while technically proficient, felt formulaic and uninspired - like they're stuck in a time loop of early 2010s indie rock. The vocals were passable, but the lyrics lacked depth and seemed to focus more on clichés than genuine storytelling. The stage presence was awkward, with the band members seeming more interested in their instruments than engaging with the crowd. For a band that's toured so extensively, I expected a more polished and captivating live show. Instead, it felt like they were just going through the motions. Maybe I caught them on a bad night, but based on this performance, I wouldn't rush to see them again. With so many talented bands out there pushing the boundaries of music, Baltic to Boardwalk's mediocre sound and unenthusiastic performance just didn't cut it for me.
