Overhyped and Underwhelming: A Local's Disappointment
I've lived in Seattle my whole life, and I've always been told that Pike Place Market is the heart of the city. Unfortunately, my recent visit was a major letdown. The crowds were overwhelming, the prices were outrageous, and the whole experience felt like a tourist trap. I mean, who pays $10 for a latte and $20 for a mediocre sandwich? The historic buildings and vibrant atmosphere are definitely impressive, but it's all just a facade for the overpriced vendors and subpar food. And don't even get me started on the parking – it's like they want you to circle the block for an hour before giving up and walking. I've been to plenty of other markets in the city that offer the same products and atmosphere without the hefty price tag and chaos. Maybe I'm just jaded as a local, but I wouldn't recommend Pike Place Market to anyone looking for an authentic Seattle experience. 2/10, would not visit again.
