Havanese Nightmare: Overpriced and Underwhelming Experience
I'm still fuming after my experience with Coleen's Pure Breed Havanese. The whole process felt like a sales pitch from start to finish, with zero regard for the actual well-being of the puppies or their future owners. The $2150 price tag for an AKC Havanese is outrageous, especially considering the contract is laden with stipulations that feel more like a trap than a safeguard. The spay/neuter contract, in particular, feels like a money grab. And don't even get me started on the deposit – $150 just to reserve a puppy? It's like they're holding your money hostage until you commit to buying. What really got my goat, though, was the lack of transparency about the health of the adult dogs. When I asked about the genetic testing they do, I was met with vague assurances that 'everything is fine.' Not exactly the kind of confidence booster you want when you're about to drop two grand on a pet. The in-home visits and regular updates sound nice on paper, but in reality, it felt like they were just trying to make me feel like I was getting a 'personalized' experience to justify the exorbitant price. Newsflash: it didn't work. If you're looking for a Havanese, keep looking. There are far more responsible and affordable breeders out there who actually care about their dogs and their customers.
