Overhyped and Underseasoned: Disappointing Experience at Oceanside

I'm not one to usually write reviews, but our recent visit to Oceanside Beach Bar & Grill was such a letdown. As a self-proclaimed foodie and local to the area, I've heard rave reviews about this place, but what we got was far from exceptional. The beer-battered fish and chips, which I was really looking forward to, tasted more like frozen fare than something freshly prepared. The breading was greasy, and the fish itself was overcooked. The 'signature flaming cheese' was just a glorified fondue with too much oil and not enough flavor. Don't even get me started on the strawberry cream cheese filled French toast – it was like they took a can of sweetened condensed milk and just poured it over stale bread. The service was friendly, I'll give them that, but our server seemed overwhelmed, and it took ages to get our checks. Maybe it was just an off day, but for a place that prides itself on its family tradition of excellence, Oceanside Beach Bar & Grill fell short in every aspect for us. With so many other great spots in Flagler Beach, I'm not sure we'll be back to give them another chance.
