Underwhelming Experience at Andrea Fisher Fine Pottery

I visited Andrea Fisher Fine Pottery with high expectations, given its reputation as a leading gallery for Southwest Native American pottery. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The staff, while knowledgeable, seemed more interested in selling pieces than providing a genuine educational experience. I was expecting a more immersive and informative experience, but the atmosphere felt somewhat sterile and commercialized. The pottery on display was indeed beautiful, but I found the prices to be exorbitant and the selection, although extensive, lacked a clear curatorial vision. As someone who appreciates Native American art, I was hoping for a more nuanced and thoughtful presentation of the pieces, rather than a seemingly endless array of items for sale. Overall, I left feeling underwhelmed and uncertain about the gallery's commitment to its stated mission of providing an 'educational retail experience.' Perhaps with a more focused approach to curation and a greater emphasis on storytelling, Andrea Fisher Fine Pottery could live up to its full potential.
