About This Business
Bella Italia Pizza, established in 1982 by Vito and Maria Cilluffo, is a family-owned pizzeria that brings the true Sicilian tradition of New York City-style pizza to the neighborhood. The story of Bella Italia Pizza began when Vito and Maria emigrated from Sicily in the early 1970s and met in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, where they were married. After moving to Pennsylvania in 1978, they opened their first pizza shop in East Norriton, with the intention of sharing their passion for authentic Sicilian pizza with the community. Following the sale of their East Norriton location, they purchased Bella Italia of Ardmore in 1982, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their culinary journey. Today, Bella Italia Pizza of Ardmore has become a beloved gathering place, where the community can come together to enjoy delicious food, warm hospitality, and a sense of famiglia. The restaurant's commitment to using only the freshest ingredients and traditional cooking methods has earned it a loyal following among pizza enthusiasts. Whether you're in the mood for a classic cheese pizza, a hearty meat-lovers, or a vegetarian delight, Bella Italia Pizza has something for everyone. In addition to their regular menu, they also offer catering and birthday party menus, making them the perfect choice for any special occasion. As a testament to their dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, Bella Italia Pizza has been a staple in the community for over three decades, and their legacy continues to grow with each passing year. A Slice of Disappointment in the Heart of Pennsylvania
I'm not sure what's more disappointing, the pizza or the nostalgia that came with it. As a long-time fan of traditional Sicilian pizza, I was excited to try Bella Italia Pizza, but my experience was a letdown. The crust was soggy, the sauce lacked depth, and the mozzarella was bland. It was like they took all the passion and tradition that Vito and Maria Cilluffo brought with them from Sicily and left it in the kitchen. The service was friendly, but our server seemed overwhelmed, and it took a while to get our orders taken care of. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but for a place that's been around since 1982, I expected more. The atmosphere was cozy, but it felt like they were relying on their history rather than innovating and improving. I'll give them credit, the beer selection was decent, but it wasn't enough to save the meal. If you're looking for a taste of Italy in Pennsylvania, you might want to keep looking. Bella Italia Pizza needs to go back to its roots and remember what made it special in the first place. Until then, I'll be taking my pizza cravings (and my appetite) elsewhere.
