I'm not sure what all the fuss is about - as a pizza enthusiast, I was thoroughly underwhelmed by my experience at Star Pizza. Maybe it's the hype from being 'Houston's Best Pizza,' but the reality didn't live up to the billing. The gluten-free crust, which I was looking forward to trying, tasted more like cardboard than the freshly made promise. Toppings were sparse, and the sauce lacked any real depth of flavor. For a place that prides itself on using the freshest ingredients and having decades of experience, the pizza tasted mass-produced and uninspired. The service was friendly, I'll give them that, but it's not enough to save the subpar food. With so many better options in Houston, it's hard to see myself returning to Star Pizza. Perhaps they were just having an off day, but for now, I'm taking my pizza cravings (and my gluten-free dietary needs) elsewhere.
