AcalaQuell: Overhyped and Underperforming
I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Acala GmbH's AcalaQuell water filters. As someone who's passionate about clean drinking water, I thought I'd found a game-changer with their Sunny model. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of the marketing hype. The filter itself is clunky and takes up too much space under my sink, and the installation process was a nightmare – I had to call a plumber to get it sorted. But the real issue is the taste and quality of the water. I was expecting a noticeable difference, but honestly, it's hard to tell if it's any better than my old filter. The company claims it removes over 99% of unwanted substances, but I've noticed no significant improvement in my water's taste or odor. What's more, the customer service has been lackluster. I tried to reach out through their contact form with some questions about maintenance and replacement parts, but it took them weeks to get back to me. For a company that prides itself on customer service, that's unacceptable. Given the high price point of these filters, I expected a lot more. Unless they seriously revamp their product and service, I'd advise others to look elsewhere for their water filtration needs. One star from me, and that's being generous.
