About This Business
Allsup's Convenience Store is a quintessential American Dream story, brought to life by the relentless commitment to community and vision of its founders, Lonnie and Barbara Allsup. The journey began in 1956 when the high school sweethearts opened their first 'drive-in' grocery store in Roswell, New Mexico. This pioneering model of the modern convenience store offered extended hours, fresh produce, and innovative services like selling ice-cold watermelons from a horse-watering tank outside. Over the years, Allsup's has evolved into a beloved brand, woven into the fabric of everyday life across the Southwest. The company is renowned for its friendly service, loyal customer base, and the world-famous Allsup's burrito. With a legacy grounded in community trust and consistency, Allsup's has become a household name, symbolizing quality, convenience, and community spirit. In 2019, Allsup's became part of Yesway, a dynamic and rapidly growing convenience store platform. Today, Allsup's continues to serve its customers with the same dedication and passion that Lonnie and Barbara Allsup had when they first started their business. The company's commitment to its customers and the community is evident in its various initiatives, such as the 'Summer Sips' campaign, which offers hot deals and cool rewards to its customers. Allsup's also partners with organizations like Operation Homefront to give back to the community and show its appreciation for the military. With its rich history, strong values, and dedication to customer satisfaction, Allsup's Convenience Store has become an integral part of the lives of people in the Southwest, offering a unique shopping experience that combines convenience, quality, and community spirit.
Customer Review
Murphy's Law in Action at Allsup's
I stopped by Allsup's Convenience Store the other day, and let me tell you, it was a perfect storm of disappointment. The 'world-famous' burrito I ordered was a sad, congealed mess that seemed to have been sitting out for hours. The 'fresh' produce looked like it had seen better days, and don't even get me started on the 'friendly' service – our server seemed like she'd rather be anywhere else. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but when you're paying premium prices for subpar food and apathetic service, it's hard to feel good about it. The Summer Sips campaign they're promoting? More like Summer Sighs, am I right? Maybe it was just an off day, but my experience was a far cry from the 'quintessential American Dream' story they tout on their website. Until they get their act together, I'll be taking my convenience store needs (and my appetite) elsewhere.
