Overpromised, Underdelivered: A Nightmare with Porch
I'm usually not one to write reviews, but my experience with Porch was so disastrous that I feel compelled to warn others. As a first-time homeowner, I was excited to use their platform to find reliable services for my new place. The website looked sleek, and the promises of a 'comprehensive platform' and 'Porch Guarantee' sounded reassuring. However, the reality was far from it. The home inspection service they connected me with was subpar, and the inspector seemed more interested in getting in and out as quickly as possible than actually doing a thorough job. When I tried to reach out to Porch about my concerns, I was met with automated responses and a complete lack of personal touch. It took me multiple attempts to even get a human on the phone, and when I did, they seemed more concerned with apologizing than actually resolving my issues. The Porch Property Protection program, which I thought was supposed to give me peace of mind, turned out to be nothing more than a hollow promise. I ended up having to deal with a leaky faucet and a faulty electrical outlet, both of which were supposedly 'inspected' by the company they recommended. To top it all off, the moving assistance they provided was a joke. The company they partnered me with showed up late, damaged some of my belongings, and then had the nerve to charge me extra for 'unexpected' fees. I'm extremely disappointed in the level of service I received from Porch, and I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for home services.
