Disappointment at 5,000 Feet

I'm still trying to process the utter letdown that was my experience with EAA Chapter 444. As someone who's passionate about aviation, I was excited to join a community that shared my interests. Unfortunately, the reality was far from what I expected. The events were disorganized, the workshops were poorly led, and the social gatherings felt more like awkward meetups than meaningful connections. I attended one of their Young Eagles Day events, hoping to inspire some young minds, but the lack of engagement and poorly maintained equipment was alarming. The board members, including President Michael Ryszkiewicz, seemed more interested in self-promotion than actually listening to members' concerns. The whole experience felt like a clique, where only certain individuals were valued. For an organization that preaches safety, innovation, and camaraderie, I was shocked by the lack of these very principles in their own operations. Unless they address these issues, I'd caution anyone from getting involved. The aviation community deserves better.
