About This Business

The Church of God of Prophecy is a global movement with humble beginnings in the mountains of Appalachia. Founded in 1903 by A.J. Tomlinson, the church has a rich history rooted in the principles of the New Testament and the Holiness tradition. With a strong emphasis on faith, perseverance, and the power of the Holy Spirit, the Church of God of Prophecy has grown into a vibrant community of believers dedicated to spreading the Good News and reconciling the world to Christ. The church's mission is to elevate the perspective on work, seeing it as God's tool for purpose, growth, and glory, and to challenge the modern divide between 'secular' and 'sacred' work. Through various ministries, including the Steward Podcast, the church explores biblical stewardship and its impact on daily lives. The Church of God of Prophecy also recognizes the importance of digital evangelism, leveraging technology to reach and reconcile the world to Christ. With a global presence, the church serves communities around the world, providing support, resources, and connection to those in need. Whether through local congregations or international offices, the Church of God of Prophecy is committed to serving and connecting with people from all walks of life. As a dynamic and growing movement, the church continues to inspire and empower individuals to live out their faith and make a meaningful impact in their communities. With a strong foundation in biblical teachings and a commitment to the power of the Holy Spirit, the Church of God of Prophecy is a beacon of hope and a source of inspiration for those seeking a deeper connection with God and with others. The church's history is a testament to the power of faith and perseverance, and its future is bright with possibilities for growth, outreach, and service. As the church continues to evolve and adapt to the needs of a changing world, it remains committed to its core values of faith, community, and service, and to its mission of spreading the Good News and reconciling the world to Christ.

Disappointing Experience with Overemphasis on Donations

I visited the Church of God of Prophecy with an open mind, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by an overemphasis on donations and a lack of genuine community engagement. The sermon felt more like a sales pitch, with constant reminders to give generously. I was expecting a deeper exploration of biblical teachings, but instead, the focus was on how our money could be used to further the church's mission. The Steward Podcast, which I had high hopes for, seemed more like a tool for guilt-tripping listeners into donating rather than providing meaningful insights into biblical stewardship. I was disappointed by the lack of transparency regarding how donations are used and the apparent prioritization of growth over the well-being of the congregation. As someone who values authenticity and community, I found the Church of God of Prophecy to be more focused on expanding its global presence than on nurturing the spiritual growth of its members. Perhaps with a more balanced approach, this church could truly live up to its mission of reconciling the world to Christ.
