Bait and Switch at OYO Hotel Oklahoma City Northeast
I'm still fuming after my stay at the OYO Hotel Oklahoma City Northeast. The pictures looked great, and the price was unbeatable, but what I got was a completely different story. First of all, the 'warm and comfortable rooms' they advertised were actually dated and worn out. The bed creaked with every move, and the air conditioning unit sounded like it was about to take off. The 'clean beds' were also a myth - I found a hairpin and a used tissue under the pillow. The 'quiet area' was actually right next to the highway, and the constant hum of traffic kept me up all night. But you know what the cherry on top was? The $100 security deposit they sprung on me at check-in. I was not informed about this beforehand, and it was a huge inconvenience. The front desk staff seemed completely unbothered by my concerns and just shrugged it off, saying it was 'policy.' Policy or not, it's ridiculous to not disclose such a large deposit upfront. The vending machines were also out of order, and the parking facility was cramped and poorly lit. For a budget hotel, I expected some compromises, but this was just ridiculous. Unless they seriously revamp their services and transparency, I would not recommend the OYO Hotel Oklahoma City Northeast to my worst enemy. The OYO platform might be empowering entrepreneurs, but it's clearly not empowering its customers.
