Dream Home Turned Nightmare: A Cautionary Tale
I'm still trying to process the disaster that Mark Dieste Design Build, LLC turned my dream home into. As a long-time fan of their work in Bethany Beach, I thought I was in good hands. Boy, was I wrong. From the initial consultation with Mark Dieste Sr. to the final walk-through with Mark Dieste Jr., the lack of attention to detail and blatant disregard for my vision was staggering. The 'custom-built home' they promised was nothing more than a cookie-cutter design with a hefty price tag. The 'top-of-the-line home renovation and construction services' they advertised were nowhere to be found. Instead, I got a half-baked remodel that looked like it was done by a amateur. The 'beautiful, functional spaces' they claimed to create were cramped and poorly designed. And don't even get me started on the 'personalized service' and 'meticulous attention to detail' they boasted about. It was more like they were trying to sell me a timeshare. I've had to deal with leaky faucets, uneven floors, and a deck that looks like it was built by a kindergartener. The 'quality craftsmanship' they prided themselves on was non-existent. I've tried to reach out to them multiple times to address these issues, but they've been completely unresponsive. It's clear that once they've got your money, they couldn't care less about your satisfaction. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for your custom home needs. Trust me, you won't regret it. One star is even too generous for this company.
