A Disappointing Foray into Creative Expression
I must confess that my experience with OSA was a resounding letdown. Having been drawn in by the promise of a unique workshop and seminar experience that would combine travel with learning, I was excited to immerse myself in their summer edition, only to find that the reality fell woefully short of my expectations. The location, while touted as 'unique,' felt more like a tourist trap than an inspiring environment, and the special mentor, despite being renowned, seemed more interested in self-promotion than in genuinely guiding us. The activities, which I had hoped would be engaging and challenging, were instead formulaic and lacking in depth, with too much repetition and not enough substance. I was particularly disappointed by the writing workshop, which felt like a generic creative writing 101 course rather than a nuanced exploration of the craft. The photography session was similarly underwhelming, with too much focus on technical aspects and not enough on artistic vision. Perhaps most disappointing, however, was the sense of community that OSA promised but failed to deliver. Rather than a supportive and inspiring environment, I found the group to be cliquey and exclusive, with little opportunity for genuine connection or feedback. As someone who was looking to expand their horizons and tap into their full potential, I felt that OSA's events were more focused on selling a luxury experience than on providing meaningful learning opportunities. With a wide range of activities and mentors to choose from, I had expected a more curated and thoughtful approach, but instead found that the offerings felt disjointed and lacking in cohesion. Overall, my experience with OSA was a disappointing and unfulfilling one, and I would not recommend it to others who are seeking a genuinely transformative and creative experience.
