I attended Zion Temple - First Born Church of the Living God Inc for several months, drawn in by their promise of community and spiritual growth. Initially, I was excited about the various ministries and departments, such as the youth ministry and women's fellowship. However, over time, I began to feel that the church's emphasis on community programs and events overshadowed the personal, spiritual growth that I was seeking. The worship services, while energetic, sometimes felt more like performances than genuine times of connection with God. I also found that the church leaders, including Pastor Bishop Herbert Cohen, were not as approachable as I had hoped. Despite their stated commitment to being available for questions and concerns, I often felt like my inquiries were dismissed or not fully addressed. The church's strong foundation in scripture is admirable, but I believe that a deeper, more personal connection with the congregation is necessary for true spiritual growth. Unfortunately, I did not find this at Zion Temple, and I have decided to explore other options for my spiritual journey.
