I'm still trying to process how a company that claims to be all about 'Southern love and tradition' could so thoroughly disappoint. I hired Zachary's BBQ Catering for my sister's graduation party, expecting that authentic, slow-cooked flavor that I've heard so much about. What we got was a lackluster spread that seemed to have been cooked with all the passion of a microwave. The 'award-winning' ribs were dry and tasted more like they'd been sitting out for hours than slow-cooked with love. And don't even get me started on the sides - the coleslaw was straight out of a supermarket jar, and the baked beans could have been heated up from a can. For a company that touts its 'scratch kitchen' and 'family recipes,' I was expecting a whole lot more. The service staff was friendly, I'll give them that, but it's hard to make up for subpar food with a smile. Maybe Zachary's BBQ was just having an off day, but for the prices they're charging, you'd think they could manage to bring their A-game every time. Unfortunately, our experience was a resounding disappointment, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for genuine Southern-style BBQ. One star from me, and that's being generous.
