I recently had the misfortune of visiting Yale New Haven Hospital for what I thought would be a straightforward appointment. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by disorganization and a general sense of chaos. The waiting room was overcrowded, with patients stacked like sardines in a can, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. My appointment was delayed by over an hour, and when I finally saw the doctor, they seemed rushed and distracted. The hospital's accreditation by the Joint Commission and affiliation with the Yale School of Medicine meant little to me as I sat in the crowded waiting room, feeling like just another number. The lack of attention to detail and consideration for patients' time was astounding. As someone who values punctuality and respect for patients' schedules, I was appalled by the hospital's apparent disregard for these basic principles. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Yale New Haven Hospital anytime soon. With all the accolades and rankings, one would expect a much higher level of care and organization. Sadly, my experience fell far short of expectations.
