Overhyped and Underseasoned Experience at Yaki House

I stopped by Yaki House near Centennial Park with high hopes, given the rave reviews and the promise of a unique blend of Japanese tradition and grilling expertise. Unfortunately, my experience was a letdown from start to finish. The Teriyaki Chicken, which I was looking forward to, lacked depth in flavor and felt overcooked. The Pad Mama Noodles, another dish I tried, was similarly underwhelming, with a sauce that tasted more like a generic sweet and sour mix than anything authentically Japanese. The Boneless Crispy Fried Chicken, while crispy on the outside, was dry and flavorless on the inside. What really sealed the deal for me, though, was the service. Our server seemed overwhelmed and inattentive, forgetting one of our appetizers and taking an inordinate amount of time to refill drinks. For a restaurant that prides itself on excellent service and high-quality ingredients, Yaki House fell woefully short. Perhaps it was an off day, but given the casual and welcoming atmosphere they advertise, I expected more, especially considering the prices. With so many other excellent dining options in Nashville, I'm not sure I'd rush back to Yaki House anytime soon.
