I'm extremely disappointed with the experience my child has had at Wales Street Primary School. Despite their claims of fostering a love of lifelong learning, I've found the curriculum to be rigid and unaccommodating to different learning styles. The inquiry-based approach, while sounding innovative, often results in confusion and a lack of clear direction for the students. My child, who excels in mathematics, has not received the challenge they need, and the teaching staff seems overwhelmed and unable to provide individualized attention. Furthermore, the emphasis on International Baccalaureate programs, though well-intentioned, feels more like a marketing tool than a genuinely beneficial educational approach for all students. The school's values of Respect, Responsibility, and Kindness are admirable but not consistently practiced, as evidenced by the handling of bullying incidents and the lack of transparency in communication with parents. As a parent, it's disheartening to see such potential for excellence fall short due to what seems like an overreliance on theoretical educational models rather than practical, student-centric learning. Wales Street Primary School needs to revisit its priorities and focus more on the individual needs and growth of its students rather than adhering strictly to its accredited programs and philosophies.
