June 06, 2025Sorely Disappointed: Not the Gym for Me
I'm usually not one to write reviews, but my experience at Train 24/7 Fitness was a letdown. As someone who values flexibility and convenience, I thought a 24/7 gym would be perfect. However, the 'unlimited access' they advertised felt more like a myth than reality. The staffed hours at the Prahran location I visited were limited, and I often found myself walking into an empty, unmanned gym. The group fitness classes, which were a major draw for me, were frequently cancelled or had last-minute instructor changes, which was frustrating. I tried to attend a few classes, including pilates and yoga, but they were always packed, and I felt like I was just another face in the crowd. The equipment, while abundant, was often in disrepair or had long wait times. The 'positive and inclusive community' they touted was not what I experienced; it felt more like every person for themselves. The healthy eating advice they provided came off as generic and uninspired. For a gym that claims to simplify the membership experience, I found the sign-up process and the constant upselling of personal training sessions to be needlessly complicated. The free trial, which I thought would give me a taste of what to expect, felt more like a sales pitch. Overall, my time at Train 24/7 Fitness was underwhelming. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day (or weeks, as it turned out), but for the price and the promises they made, I expected a lot more. I've since taken my fitness journey (and my wallet) elsewhere.
