I'm usually not one to write reviews, but my experience at The Overlook was such a letdown that I felt compelled to share. As an avid outdoorsman, I was excited to explore the 'sporty outdoors' and 'untouched beaches' that The Overlook promised. Unfortunately, the reality was far from it. The community itself felt cramped and lacking in character, with townhomes and condos that seemed to be slapped together without much thought for aesthetics or functionality. The 'stunning white sand beaches' were actually pretty average, and the 'private and public beach access' was often crowded and noisy. I was also disappointed to find that the 'nearly three acres of land' were mostly taken up by a bland, unremarkable park that seemed to be an afterthought. The surrounding area of Port St. Joe was quaint, I'll give it that, but it felt like a tourist trap, with overpriced restaurants and shops that catered more to visitors than locals. The 'fresh, locally sourced seafood' was a highlight, but even that was overpriced and not particularly impressive. Overall, I'd say that The Overlook is a decent spot if you're looking for a generic, unremarkable beach vacation, but if you're expecting a unique and unforgettable living experience, keep looking. The Overlook failed to deliver on its promises, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine outdoor adventure.
