June 06, 2025Underwhelming Experience at The Beachwood Cottage
I must say, our stay at The Beachwood Cottage was nothing short of disappointing. The pictures looked amazing, but the reality was far from it. First of all, the 'cozy' beachfront home was actually quite small, and the 'stunning ocean views' were partially blocked by a large tree in front of the property. The kitchen was not as well-equipped as we had hoped, with a few essential items missing, such as a decent coffee maker and sharp knives. The beds were comfortable, I'll give them that, but the large picture window, while nice, let in a lot of cold air, making the living room quite chilly in the evenings. The location was indeed perfect for exploring the Oregon Coast, but the check-in and out process, which was supposed to be 'easy', was actually quite confusing, with unclear instructions and a lockbox that didn't work properly. To top it all off, the customer service from Sweet Homes Rentals was subpar, with long response times to our queries and a general feeling of being left to fend for ourselves. Overall, I would not recommend The Beachwood Cottage or Sweet Homes Rentals to anyone looking for a hassle-free vacation experience.
