I'm not one to usually write reviews, but my experience with Shane Barker Mortgage Broker - Barrett Financial was an unmitigated disaster. From the get-go, it felt like everything that could go wrong did. First, the website promised a 'smooth and stress-free' process, but what I got was a never-ending cycle of paperwork, miscommunications, and unreturned phone calls. I was initially excited to work with Shane, given his extensive experience and multiple state licenses, but it quickly became apparent that his team was overwhelmed and disorganized. The 'latest technology and decision-making tools' they touted seemed to be nothing more than a fancy way of saying they had a website that didn't work half the time. I tried to explore different loan programs and calculate mortgage payments, but the system kept crashing, and when I finally got through to someone, they seemed as confused as I was. The 'four easy steps' to apply for a loan turned into a dozen complicated hurdles, each one requiring more paperwork and more patience than the last. I asked to discuss the details of the loan, but Shane was always 'unavailable,' and when I did manage to get him on the phone, he seemed more interested in selling me on the benefits of refinancing than in addressing my concerns.
