I was really looking forward to trying out sailing with Sailability Sunshine Coast, but my experience was a letdown. As someone with a disability, I was excited to find an organization that catered to my needs, but the execution fell short. The sailing sessions were disorganized, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. I waited for over an hour to get onto the water, and when I finally did, the instructor seemed more interested in chatting with the other staff members than in helping me. The equipment was also not well-maintained, which made it difficult for me to participate safely. I understand that Sailability Sunshine Coast is a non-profit organization and relies on donations, but that's no excuse for the lack of professionalism and attention to detail. I was really hoping to find a supportive and encouraging environment, but instead, I felt like just another participant. Maybe they were just having a bad day, but I won't be returning. With a little more attention to detail and a focus on the participants' experience, Sailability Sunshine Coast could be truly great.
