I've been a member of Oxon Pool (Specialist) for a few months now, and I must say, my initial excitement has worn off. The pool itself is indeed serene and picturesque, but the experience has been marred by several issues. Firstly, the conservation restrictions, while commendable, can be overly restrictive. I've had to pack up and leave before dusk on multiple occasions, which defeats the purpose of a relaxing fishing trip. The fish population is diverse, but the carp seem to be overfed, making them lethargic and unresponsive to even the most enticing baits. The platforms, although newly installed, can be quite cramped, and the naming conventions, while quaint, don't make up for the lack of comfort. The code of conduct and fishery rules are stringent, which I understand is necessary, but it feels like they're more focused on protecting the environment than providing a enjoyable experience for the members. The worst part is the lack of transparency regarding the ongoing development plans. It seems like they're more interested in expanding their membership base than actually improving the facilities. As an experienced angler, I expect more from a specialist fishery like Oxon Pool. Unfortunately, my experience has been underwhelming, and I wouldn't recommend it to fellow anglers seeking a unique and rewarding experience.
