About This Business

The Moulton Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture is a community-driven organization located in Moulton, Texas, at the intersection of Texas State Highway 95 and Farm to Market 532. Founded in the mid-1850s, the town of Moulton has a rich history, with its name originating from either another 'Moulton' in Kentucky or Alabama, or possibly named after pioneer settler E.L. Moulton. The town's first official post office opened in 1855, and a private school was established in the same decade, with classes held in an old church. The Moulton Male and Female Institute, opened by M.H. Allis, gained an excellent reputation within the county and contributed to community growth until 1892. By 1875, the community had grown to include several stores, a church, a wagon shop, and an Old Fellows hall. The San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway arrived in 1887, further enhancing the town's development. Today, the Moulton Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture continues to play a vital role in the community, promoting local events, supporting businesses, and preserving the town's history. The chamber is involved in various initiatives, including the annual Jamboree, which brings the community together and showcases local talent. With its strong sense of community and rich history, Moulton is an attractive destination for visitors and a great place to live and work. The Moulton Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture is committed to helping the community thrive and invites everyone to get involved and be a part of its vibrant community.

Disappointing Experience with Moulton Chamber of Commerce

I'm a long-time resident of Moulton, Texas, and I've gotta say, I'm pretty underwhelmed with the Moulton Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture. As someone who's been around since the mid-1850s, I figured they'd have their act together by now. But, unfortunately, that's just not the case. I attended the annual Jamboree, expecting a fun-filled day of local talent and community spirit. What I got was a lackluster event with poorly organized activities and a noticeable lack of enthusiasm from the staff. It felt like they were just going through the motions, without any real passion or dedication to making the event special. I was particularly disappointed by the outdated information and lack of support for local businesses. As a business owner myself, I know how important it is to have a strong chamber of commerce that can provide resources and advocacy. But the Moulton Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture seems more focused on preserving the town's history than actually supporting its current residents and businesses. I've tried to get involved and provide feedback, but my efforts have been met with resistance and a general lack of interest. It's frustrating to see an organization with so much potential fail to deliver. Maybe it's time for some new leadership and a fresh perspective. Until then, I'll be taking my business (and my community spirit) elsewhere.
