I recently purchased an apartment from Meriton at their Retreat development in Lidcombe, and I have to say, the experience has been underwhelming. As a first-time buyer, I was drawn in by their promises of luxury and high-quality finishes, but what I got was a pricey apartment with subpar communication from the sales team. The 'resort-style' community they advertised sounds great on paper, but in reality, it's just a fancy way of saying they've got a pool and a gym. Don't get me wrong, the location is convenient, being close to the Olympic Park Train Station, but that's about where the positives end. The actual apartment itself feels like it was built with speed over quality in mind. The finishes are nice, I'll give them that, but there are already signs of wear and tear after just a few months of living here. The real kicker, though, is the lack of transparency and communication from Meriton's team. They seem more interested in getting you to sign on the dotted line than in actually helping you through the process. I've had to chase them multiple times for updates on the construction timeline, and even then, the information I get is vague at best. For a company that prides itself on customer service, I've found the experience to be quite disappointing. If you're in the market for a new apartment, I'd caution against getting swept up in Meriton's flashy marketing. Look elsewhere for a developer that actually delivers on their promises.
