June 06, 2025Underwhelming Experience, Overpriced and Overhyped
I visited Mastroberardino with high expectations, given its reputation as a top Italian winery and resort. Unfortunately, my experience was a letdown from start to finish. The 'immersive experience' they promise felt more like a disjointed series of overpriced activities. The wine tour, which I was most looking forward to, was rushed and lacking in depth. Our guide seemed more interested in pushing their wine packs than in providing meaningful insights into the winemaking process. The Radici Resort, while beautifully situated, had rooms that were smaller than expected and not as luxurious as advertised. The Fitness Experience, which included a walk through the vineyards, was pleasant but not particularly unique or challenging. The real disappointment, however, was the food. Despite being in the heart of Italy, known for its culinary excellence, the meals served at the resort were uninspired and overpriced. For the cost, I expected a truly exceptional experience, but what I got was something that felt mass-produced and impersonal. Unless they revamp their approach to focus more on quality and less on quantity, I would not recommend Mastroberardino to anyone looking for a genuine Italian experience.
