June 06, 2025A Disappointing Experience with Laraway Youth and Family Services
I am extremely disappointed with the services provided by Laraway Youth and Family Services. As a former foster parent, I was expecting a more supportive and comprehensive approach to helping children and families in need. Unfortunately, my experience with their Therapeutic Foster Care program was marred by a lack of communication, inadequate resources, and a general sense of disorganization. The program's focus on preserving and strengthening families is admirable, but the execution falls short. I have seen firsthand the challenges faced by children in foster care, and it is disheartening to see an organization with such a crucial mission struggle to deliver. The Laraway School Program and BackPack Program may have their merits, but my experience with the Therapeutic Foster Care program has left a sour taste. With so many children relying on their services, I hope that Laraway Youth and Family Services will take my feedback to heart and work towards improving their programs and support systems. Until then, I would caution others to approach with caution and carefully consider their options.
