About This Business
The Jersey Coast Shark Anglers (JCSA), in association with the Riviera Beach Boat Club (RBBC), is a premier fishing and boating club located on the Jersey Shore. Founded in 1977 by a group of avid fishermen, the JCSA pioneered shark fishing in the region and has since become a leading organization for fishing enthusiasts. The club's rich history began with a focus on shark fishing, which gained immense popularity following the release of the movie Jaws. In 1982, the JCSA merged with the Riviera Beach Boat Club, which was founded in 1959 by local sportsmen. Today, the combined entity offers a unique blend of fishing tournaments, social events, and community activities. The JCSA/RBBC is renowned for its signature Fishing Tournament Series, featuring competitions for Bluefin Tuna, Fluke, and Striped Bass. These events provide an exciting platform for seasoned anglers and newcomers alike to showcase their skills and passion for the sea. With a strong emphasis on family-oriented events and conservation, the club has built a loyal membership of over 200 individuals who share a deep appreciation for the thrill of the catch and the bonds of friendship. The JCSA/RBBC clubhouse, complete with a full bar and event hall, serves as a vibrant hub for social gatherings, weddings, corporate events, and other celebrations. The club's commitment to preserving the heritage of shark fishing on the Jersey Shore is evident in its ongoing efforts to promote sustainable fishing practices and support local conservation initiatives. Whether you're an experienced angler or just starting to explore the world of fishing, the Jersey Coast Shark Anglers/Riviera Beach Boat Club invites you to join its legacy and become part of a thriving community that shares your passion for the sea.

June 09, 2025A Reel Disappointment: Overpriced and Underwhelming Experience
I'm still trying to process the letdown that was my experience with the Jersey Coast Shark Anglers/Riviera Beach Boat Club. As an avid fisherman and a fan of the movie Jaws, I thought I'd found my tribe. Unfortunately, the club's focus on shark fishing and conservation seemed to take a backseat to their more lucrative pursuits – like overcharging members for subpar events and tournaments. The Fishing Tournament Series, which I was excited to participate in, felt more like a cash grab than a genuine celebration of the sport. The entry fees were astronomical, and the 'prizes' were lackluster at best. I ended up leaving with a lighter wallet and a bad taste in my mouth. The clubhouse, while nicely decorated, had a stuffy, elitist vibe that made me feel like an outsider. The full bar and event hall seemed to cater more to the club's wealthier patrons, leaving the rest of us to feel like second-class citizens. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect, however, was the club's supposed commitment to conservation. From what I saw, their efforts seemed half-hearted and more focused on appearances than actual substance. Unless you're a high-roller with deep pockets, I'd advise against joining this club. There are better, more inclusive fishing communities out there that won't leave you feeling like you've been hooked and left to hang.
